A drama that was matched with the careful choice of colors throughout, of the music, of the sounds of a deserted beach town on a winter day.The film was shot in a very cool, very intimate style as well. It isn’t too constructive, but nothing in life ever seems to be. A slim relationship between two male adolescents blossoms just in time.Despite appearing rather empty on first sighting, if you let it, this film can deliver a powerful message. The irony is that, once rolling off their last credit, these films actually hold an abundance of traction. In the best way possible, Seashore is this film. Sometimes it’s good to hear—and good to tell—a good story. The ending was very positive, and it was a door way that opened to a new phase in their relationship. It’s well worth watching.In the post-film question and answer session with the director and actors, there was a woman from the audience who did ask why they didn’t talk about the problems or politics of coming out, or of being gay in Brazil. I should preface this review by saying that I love a good boring movie, by which I mean my choice of film sits at the latter end of the spectrum mentioned above, a film that can make a lot happen with very little action. Icing on the cake. Sometimes a movie's shocking twist, ambiguous ending, or artsy finale can be more confusing than satisfying. Life, after all, is just a lot of staring blankly and feeling shitty about stuff. I only cried once, and it wasn’t a hard cry. This movie definitely was made for my generation—and I’m sure that’s why I felt so connected to it. It took the entire movie to build the 2 main characters and to build the plot, but the ending made the movie worth it. And if all else fails, then you can start over again. This is how the film describes itself, and it does exactly that. Though they emphasized that it’s a story that shouldn’t be told nostalgically, hence the reason to create the film while still young themselves. This movie definitely was made for my generation—and I’m sure that’s why I felt so connected to it. If you are a young male alone in this world that enjoys reflecting on desires, listening to the seashore, and watching beautiful independent films, then you categorically must see this film.The plot is as vast and empty as the vision of the future in this mystical post-apocalyptic fantasy drama.Once the feelings begin to blossom, then the film does become more optimistic and defines the agenda with more clarity. There were very close shots, with some scenes even passing between in- and out-of-focus.
