Applications must be submitted in accordance with requirements and forms provided in the Notice of Funding Availability as posted on www.Grants.gov.Applications will be evaluated competitively and awarded points based on the selection criteria included in the published Notice of Funding Availability. The funding is intended to build capacity and effectiveness of these organizations by providing funds to handle fair housing enforcement and education initiatives. This Initiative provides funding to establish new fair housing enforcement organizations and to support the continued existence of fair housing organizations in building their capacity to enforce the prohibitions on discrimination set forth in the Fair Housing Act. “The Fair Housing Act is a landmark civil rights law that challenges our nation to address a long history of racist policies and practices in housing and lending; it also explicitly charges HUD with actively addressing housing discrimination and segregation.
