I went early so the weather was nice. Crossing the river by the art center is easy however crossing the river at the other end is very confusing. I think this trail map needs to be updated.Nice walk. The trail is primarily used for walking, running, road biking, and canoeing and is accessible year-round. I mean yea it can be overcrowded sometimes but it’s next to ASU so that comes with the territory. Walked the whole trail. We added in "A" mountain for a little challenge and stopped a couple of times for water breaks. The loop is a good walk of 5 miles plus. Otherwise enjoyable views of the lake and surrounding are.I’m new to Arizona and seeing that my girlfriend love little gems like this one, I give it 5 stars. Very easy and fur babies enjoyed a lot. Hot and humid today, 100° and 35% humidity.Bridge was out at Scottdale Rd.

Tempe is a the same distance from the Phoenix airport as downtown Phoenix, and offers some great options for running. Dog friendly and watch out for the bicyclists.Cool urban trail option adjacent to Tempe.
there's another way to get to the other side of the lake if you follow the trail up and cross the other bridge along the main road there's less foot traffic there.The far east end has lots of "urban campers" and trash. Looking at the map it looks like there could be another option by continuing down McClintock and into the trails on the other side of the ramp that go back to the lake. But I’m not sure and I’m not sure I care enough to try.
