The Award provides protection and support to human rights defenders who are at risk. Abdelaziz Muhamat was selected by a jury of the world’s leading human rights organisations and was honoured during a ceremony in Geneva on Wednesday. Martin Ennals (27 July 1927 – 5 October 1991) was a British human rights activist.Ennals served as the Secretary-General of Amnesty International from 1968 to 1980.
