If you go within a few days after it rains, expect there to be mud a half a mile in. It’s not worth it unless you like looking at beer cans, circle k cups and cactus for more then 2 miles cause the trail itself is actually 4. and be prepared to get pricked by at least a few plants because that’s how narrow it is. It was really just the first mile that we passed other people on the trail, the further you go, the less people you see. Once through the green gate almost any capable off-road vehicle can make the journey to the coves via a network of un-maintained dirt roads, hills and washes.
