While the reservoir stores water for the Greater Phoenix area it also provides some great camping and recreation opportunities.
All park playgrounds are closed. Bartlett Reservoir Please Note: Riverside Campground and shoreline camping site remain closed. A couple of vault toilets and a primitive boat ramp are the only amenities you will find at Bartlett Flats. SB Cove Campground is located at Bartlett Lake in Tonto National Forest and is a dispersed campground offering camping and on the shores of the lake.

A fair portion of the west side of the reservoir is devoted to camping and picnicking. 5 oz. All of the passes for the Forest are available at each Ranger District.
The Tonto Daily passes are not valid at any developed campground. Because of the close proximity to water, fisherman and avid water recreationalist enjoy this spot all year long. Several state-record fish have been caught there.

The reservoir is 20 miles east of Carefree. After seeing the post on Bartlett Lake I went to the Tonto NF site and found this information : Tonto National Forest Closes Developed Recreation Sites Forestwide The Tonto National Forest will begin the orderly closure of the following developed recreation sites as early as Monday, March 23, to protect public health and safety and align with state and local measures already in place … When Bartlett lake is at full capacity only limited campsites are available, likewise when the lake is low there will be more available land for camping.Since Bartlett Lake is a popular destination in the summer for boating and camping, Bartlett Flats Campground can get packed very quickly, with campsites right on top of each other. Check-in at Bartlett Vista, or the gate in front of the Cave Creek Ranger District Office. Riverside is a campground with an exceptional view of Bartlett Dam. Ranger District Offices.
