The drive down to the Playa is pretty rough here, but you can camp either on the Playa or near the small parking lot, that has trash bins and a vault (pit) toilet.
The experience was at once liberating, thrilling, and disorienting. The plan was to camp for a couple nights, and hike and explore during the day.
